Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. TD Ierlan, Albany’s historic faceoff man that just finished the best season in terms of win percentage in Division I history, may be heading elsewhere according to multiple reports. Ierlan, who recently went toe-to-toe with Trevor Baptiste in the NCAA quarterfinals, is seeking his release from the Great Danes program.

According to Inside Lacrosse, his release is currently conditional and would leave out teams on the 2019 schedule. However, an appeal could open Ierlan up to all programs.

And it might be the route he takes, as multiple sources have reported his favored destinations are Syracuse and Cornell. Ierlan’s brother, Chayse, will join the Big Red program as a freshman next season.

A team spokesperson declined to comment on Ierlan when reached by US Lacrosse Magazine.

2. Speaking of Albany, the Great Danes stand at No. 11 in our way-early rankings for 2019. With Tehoka Nanticoke taking control of the offense, it could be another successful season in Albany.

Rutgers, which loses star attackman Jules Heningburg and All-American Michael Rexrode, slots in at No. 14. Can the Scarlet Knights finally make a run?

3. Lyle Thompson, the Chesapeake Bayhawks star and Iroquois Nationals player, will be out until early July with what coach Dave Cottle called a shoulder injury.

Thompson’s timetable for recovery comes just days before the opening of the 2018 FIL World Championships in Netanya, Israel. Thompson is slated to join a competitive Iroquois Nationals team for the World Championships.

In other MLL news, Ohio Machine coach Bear Davis told Lax Sports Network that former Duke star Justin Guterding will be available for Thursday’s game against the Denver Outlaws, as well as Saturday’s matchup with the Bayhawks. Guterding has yet to play in the MLL after being drafted ninth overall to the defending champions.

Also, the Boston Cannons picked up two undrafted rookies. The team welcomed former Georgetown goalie Nick Marrocco and former Villanova star Danny Seibel, both of whom are from the Boston area.

4. Lacrosse world, we’re finally able to see the #Laxemoji. Well, at least a version of it. The lacrosse “Twemoji” was rolled out as part of the Unicode 11.0 update (Emoji 11.0), and is visible on Twitter in most platforms (outside of the Twitter app).

5. Navy made a statement in 2018, backing up its Division I women’s final four run with a quarterfinal appearance this season. In the way-early 2019 women’s rankings, the Midshipmen come in at No. 15.

Northwestern sits at No. 11 in the rankings, with star Selena Lasota returning to lead the Wildcats offense. 

6. Steve DeNapoli is the most underrated player on the U.S. men’s national team, according to his teammates. We polled Team USA and we got a few good answers.

7. An investigation into the Air Force men’s lacrosse team has concluded, and it found that “roughly 30” players were involved in freshmen hazing in some way.

According to the New York Daily News: "The legal review of the lacrosse investigation is finished, and those suggested punishments have been passed along to the requisite higher-ups. Some players have been put on probation while others were kicked off the team.”

• It wasn’t so long ago that Matt Facchine was a fourth-grader just trying out lacrosse. Now the Delbarton (N.J.) School freshman midfielder is planning a three-day clinic through his Community Lacrosse organization to introduce others to lacrosse.

• Garden City (N.Y.) jumped out early and won in commanding fashion over John Jay-Cross River (N.Y.) in the Class A semifinals.

• Victor (N.Y.) routed East Syracuse-Minoa in the Class B semifinal to advance to another title game.

• The Saskatchewan Rush can’t wait for another winner-take-all game in the Champion’s Cup at the SaskTel Centre.
