Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. What a night in women’s lacrosse.

The highlight of Wednesday’s slate came at Klockner, where Richmond upset No. 6 Virginia 13-12 on freshman Lindsey Frank’s overtime game-winner.

Richmond led 11-7 in the second half, but Virginia rallied with five goals to take the lead with 1:51 left. The Spiders responded with a Sam Geiersbach goal with 52 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

In the other marquee matchup, Maggie Schneidereith’s goal with one second left gave Johns Hopkins the thrilling 15-14 win over Georgetown. The Blue Jays led 14-11, but the Hoyas rallied to tie the game at 14-14.

Georgetown won the ensuing draw, but Hopkins goalie Kathleen Garvey made a save with nine seconds left and threw a nearly full-field outlet pass to Schneidereith, who scored the game-winner.

2. Loyola completes the sweep of Hopkins and Towson.

The Greyhounds downed Towson 15-6 on Wednesday night behind four goals from Kevin Lindley and a hat trick from Joey Kamish. Loyola led 5-3 at the half, but a 7-1 fourth quarter fueled the blowout win.

3. Lacrosse fans heard the story of Connor McKemey on Tuesday night's High Point vs. Virginia broadcast.

McKemey, who was the victim of a backyard propane explosion in 2008, was recruited by High Point and now serves as a volunteer assistant. His story was featured in the April 2016 edition of Lacrosse Magazine. We wanted to bring it back to share with the lacrosse community once again.

4. Alyssa Parrella is poised to rewrite the CAA history books.

The Hofstra scorer recently tallied her 200^th goal, and she’s continuing to leave her legacy with the Pride. Click here to find out more about the Long Island-bred star that could be key for Hofstra come conference play.

5. Samantha Giacolone shares her thoughts about what it takes to be a leader.

In the IWLCA blog “Behind the Whistle,” Giacolone shares her Notre Dame lacrosse story, and how it felt to wear the “C” in South Bend.

7. Say hello to the Premier Lacrosse League powered by Ticketmaster.

The league announced a naming rights deal with Ticketmaster on Wednesday, a move that also includes a new name for the Premier Zone and multiple content pieces.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Maryland and Navy are having difficulty rescheduling their annual matchup previously slated for last weekend. Navy had to postpone the game due to an outbreak of the Norovirus on campus. The teams have met every year since 1946.

• Breaking down each of Lehigh's new members to the coaching staff: Jack Deragon, John Crawley and Eddie Bouhall.

• The NAIA released its first men’s and women’s coaches polls for the 2020 season.

• The Albany offense has been its strength over the past few years. But in 2020, the Great Danes defense is making major strides.

• Penn State women's lacrosse welcomed 10-year-old Abigail Marinaro as a Nittany Lion for a day. Team IMPACT made the day possible for Marinaro, who has cystic fibrosis.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

Boston U women’s lacrosse player Kailey Conry shares her story of battling Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a condition that required two surgeries and almost prevented her from playing lacrosse.

Saint Leo coach Brad Jorgensen talks about the meaning behind Lacrosse for Life on March 1. His son was deprived of oxygen at birth and was taken to Boston Children's hospital, where he was able to recover.
