Good morning. Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. No. 8 James Madison defeated No. 13 Virginia Tech 14-8 on Wednesday, despite trailing for the first 10 minutes. 

After the game saw three ties, JMU junior attacker Logan Brennan took it into her own hands, scoring three back-to-back goals spanning both halves to hand the Dukes a lead that didn’t disappear. 

Brennan finished with a game-high six points on five goals and an assist, while Maddie McDaniel led the midfield with nine draw controls. Goalie Molly Dougherty made 10 saves, Emma Johnson snagged four ground balls and Natalie Fuccillo had three caused turnovers. 

Virginia Tech got a team-best four points from Paige Petty with a hat trick and one assist. 

2. In other Division I women’s action Wednesday, Duke shut out Presbyterian 20-0 as sophomore Charlotte North broke the program single-game points record with 11 on five goals and six assists.

Plus, Fairfield defeated UConn for the first time since 2009 thanks to Diana DeVita’s five points for the 13-7 victory and Wagner coach Michelle Tumolo recorded her first win at the helm of the program as her Seahawks cruised past Iona 14-4.

3. Tucker Dordevic, a sophomore midfielder for Syracuse, will redshirt the 2019 season due to a right foot injury, coach John Desko announced Wednesday. In 2018, Dordevic started all 15 games, tallying 20 points.

6. U.S. officials were selected for the 2019 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, which will be held from Sept. 19-28 in Langley, British Columbia.
