Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Jacksonville opened its season with a commanding 19-8 victory over Bellarmine Wednesday afternoon.

Jack Dolan led the way with three goals and three assists, along with hat tricks from Troy Hettinger and Luke Robinson. The Dolphins jumped out to an early lead and took a 9-2 edge into halftime before cruising to the win.

Highlight of the day? This Sam Chase BTB finish.

2. The season opener between North Carolina and James Madison, scheduled for Feb. 13, has been postponed due to a positive test within the Dukes’ program.

According to Kenny DeJohn, Stony Brook will take the place of James Madison this weekend, since the Seawolves had a game against Villanova postponed.

3. The PLL Entry Draft lottery was kind to Archers LC, but not as forgiving for Chaos LC. The draft lottery aired on Wednesday night.

Here’s the official order of the three-round Entry Draft, which kicks off with Cannons LC on March 25.

Pick
Team
1 Cannons
2 Archers
3 Redwoods
4 Waterdogs
5 Chrome
6 Atlas
7 Whipsnakes
8 Chaos

4. This weekend’s Army vs. Virginia matchup came together thanks to a broadcast and text.

Black Knights coach Joe Alberici was leaving a church service last weekend when UMass coach Greg Cannella called to inform that the Minutemen had to cancel a scheduled game due to COVID-19 protocols.

Army junior Brendan Nichtern had heard on a Saturday broadcast that Virginia was looking for a game this upcoming weekend. Hours later, the game was on.
