Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Two straight Major League Lacrosse MVP awards and a National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Year award in his first season EVER playing indoor lacrosse are pretty good credentials. That's why one prominent individual in the lacrosse world said of Tom Schreiber: "He's the best player in the world right now, case closed."

Yesterday, we released a sneak peak of the January 2018 cover of US Lacrosse Magazine, which begins hitting our members' mailboxes next week. Join today, and get the magazine delivered to your house while helping to support the healthy development of the sport.

2. ESPN aired a terrific piece yesterday on a big safety concern in the sport - commotio cordis, a type of sudden cardiac arrest caused by a blunt, but often relatively mild, blow to the area of the chest directly over the heart occurring during a precise moment of heart's cycle that can be life threatening.

US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen was featured in the piece, which highlighted the impact the Louis Acompora Foundation has had in making AEDs more widely available, and the work US Lacrosse and others are doing to solve the issue.

3. Pace of play, safety, recruiting and stick specs were under the microscope in 2017, a year that witnessed some groundbreaking legislation. US Lacrosse Magazine takes a look at the timeline of changes.

4. England announced its 23-man roster for the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse Men's World Championship yesterday. It includes five players from the 2014 world championship - including top offensive threats Sam Russell and Nick Watson - and Rutgers senior midfielder Christian Scarpello.
