Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world.

1. Briana Scurry, the two-time Olympic gold medalist and 1999 World Cup-winning goalie with the U.S. women’s soccer team, will deliver the keynote address at the 2019 US Lacrosse Convention in Philadelphia Jan. 11-13. “Lacrosse has so much going for it — the skill, the speed, the tradition. It’s great to watch,” said Scurry, who is perhaps most remembered for her diving save in the shootout round of Team USA’s win over China in the 1999 World Cup final. “I’m looking forward to sharing my story with the lacrosse community and hopefully to providing some tips and lessons learned that will help the sport continue to grow.”

2. BJ O’Hara, the four-time Major League Lacrosse championship-winning coach, is leaving his post with the Denver Outlaws to take the helm of the New York Lizards. Joe Spallina, the Lizards’ general manager who recently stepped down as the head coach, tabbed in O’Hara a coach who is very popular with players. O’Hara will work full-time for the franchise.

3. Tony Seaman, formerly the Outlaws general manager and the architect of three MLL title teams, will take over for O’Hara on the sidelines. Seaman, of course, had a decorated 28-year college coaching career in which he earned the distinction as the only coach to lead three different Division I teams — Penn, Johns Hopkins and Towson — to NCAA tournaments. Seaman will retain John Grant Jr. as his offensive coordinator. Matt Bocklet, who retired as a player this year after 11 seasons with the Outlaws, will be the defensive coordinator. Jon Cohen, the assistant general manager for several years under Seaman, is Denver’s new general manager.

4. North Carolina signed women’s lacrosse coach Jenny Levy and men’s lacrosse coach Joe Breschi to contract extensions that will keep both of them in Chapel Hill through the 2023 season.

The Premier Lacrosse League is on YouTube.

As you can tell, PLL co-founder Paul Rabil and his pals are pretty comfortable in the YouTube environment, evidenced by this Cornhole Lacrosse game in which he took on Kyle Hartzell.

After reuniting with his U.S. teammates in Baltimore last weekend, Greg Gurenlian had some thoughts on the PLL-MLL dynamic. It’s not as adversarial as you think.
