Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. US Lacrosse yesterday named the 46 players that have been invited to try out for the 2019 U.S. indoor men’s team.

Tryouts will be Sept. 26-30 in Syracuse, N.Y., and the Federation of Indoor Lacrosse World Indoor Championship will be Sept. 19-28, 2019, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

“One of the core values of our message is we really wanted a good locker room,” Team USA coach Regy Thorpe said in the press release.

To that end, seven players that just helped the U.S. win gold at the FIL World Championship for field lacrosse less than two weeks ago were among the invitees. The tryout roster also includes 11 from the 2015 U.S. indoor squad that captured the bronze medal in the last world championship.

2. Saturday will mark the end of an era for two Cornell grads that enjoyed stellar Major League Lacrosse careers.

Boston hosts Ohio Saturday, and the two will be honored in a ceremony following the game.

Belisle was drafted by the now-defunct Los Angeles Riptide after he graduated from Cornell in 2007. He joined the Boston Cannons in 2009, and no player has suited up for that franchise in more games than Belisle has. The three-time MLL All-Star played for Team USA in the 2014 FIL World Championship and in the 2011 FIL World Indoor Championship.

Seibald, drafted No. 2 overall by Denver in 2009, played for the Outlaws and then New York before being traded to Boston before the 2015 season. The three-time FIL World Championship participant (with the U.S. in 2010 and 2014, and with Israel in 2018) ranks third in league history with 33 career two-point goals. He is a five-time MLL All-Star.

3. The Machine, Boston’s opponent Saturday, also announced a roster move, complete with a sponsor.

4. Oregon likes to Gamble.

The Ducks yesterday announced the hiring of former Stanford offensive coordinator Chelsea Gamble as their new head coach, replacing Katrina Dowd.

5. Lacrosse seems to fit well among the active pursuits of the “biggest little city in the world.”

From the July/August issue of US Lacrosse Magazine, investments by High Sierra Lacrosse Foundation volunteers into physical-education and soft-stick lacrosse have begun to pay dividends in the form of more kids playing the game in the Lake Tahoe area.

Appropriate, as the visitors’ bureau for Reno, Nev., and the Lake Tahoe area offers, “We don’t do one-dimensional,” as the top headline on its website, placed over video highlights of activities ranging from urban wall-climbing to scenic snowboarding.

6. The New England Black Wolves brought a couple players into its pack in an offseason National Lacrosse League move.

7. The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association promoted Jac Coyne from director of external affairs to executive director.

Coyne previously served as a writer and online editor for US Lacrosse Magazine. The MCLA includes nine leagues of play for non-varsity collegiate lacrosse teams. Its 2018 national championships took place in Salt Lake City, Utah.
