Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1.  The ACC tournament quarterfinals were a blast.

Katie Hoeg set an ACC tournament record with seven assists as top-seeded North Carolina cruised past Louisville, Notre Dame and Boston College narrowly edged their opponents and Syracuse did just enough offensively to beat Virginia Tech.

The semifinals will be played Friday. Here are the scores from Wednesday:

North Carolina 19, Louisville 6
Syracuse 9, Virginia Tech 4
Boston College 16, Virginia 12
Notre Dame 17, Duke 16

2. The Colonials are MAC champions.

With Robert Morris’ 19-5 win over Detroit Mercy yesterday, the Colonials became champions of the MAC’s inaugural season and also locked up the first conference title in program history.

Colleen Tifft led the team with four points (two goals), while Clio Kerr registered a hat trick and Jordan Anderson scored twice and controlled 10 draws.

3. John Desko spoke yesterday about Chase Scanlan.

Scanlan, the junior attackman who leads Syracuse in goals, will not travel to Notre Dame this weekend despite being reinstated after serving an “indefinite suspension” that lasted just about one week.

Syracuse.com reported prior to the press conference that Scanlan was involved in what police described as a “domestic incident” the day before he was suspended. Desko, citing federal privacy laws about students, offered little information on the situation.

4. Could three AAC teams make the women’s NCAA tournament?

Traditionally a one-bid league with Florida recently dominating the conference, the AAC now boasts other talent — namely Temple and Vanderbilt. Jeremy Fallis’ latest women’s bracketology breaks it down.

5. Lucas de la Paz won 33 of 34 faceoffs last week to earn national recognition.

The Mater Dei (Calif.) faceoff man is one of five US Lacrosse High School Boys Players of the Week. His 97-percent performance helped Mater Dei beat Sierra Canyon (Calif.) 20-10.

6. Christina Gagnon was huge in the circle and on offense for St. Paul’s (Md.).

Gagnon had five goals with three assists as the Gators became the first IAAM team to beat McDonogh since 2008. She’s one of five US Lacrosse High School Girls. Players of the Week.
