Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Emily Hawryschuk is coming back.
Two months ago when Syracuse’s Emily Hawryschuk announced the torn ACL she suffered in practice before the Orange’s second game would keep her out the rest of the season, she ended on a positive note. “#51 is not signing off just yet.”
The statement was a sign of things to come.
Hawryschuk, one of the best players in the college game, announced on her social media platforms Wednesday afternoon that she will use her sixth year of eligibility to play a final season in the Carrier Dome for Gary Gait.

2. Select Ivy League teams are back on the field.
Nestled in the announcement that league play would not take place in 2021, the Ivy League did offer the possibility of local competition that met state and school guidelines. That possibility will hopefully become a reality this weekend. Brown’s men’s team will play Boston U on Friday night at Nickerson Field.
After being ranked in the Top 20 in most preseason polls, Penn will take on D-III Cabrini at 6:30 p.m. on the Atlantic East Network. The Dartmouth men host Tufts on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The Penn women’s team, the first Ivy League lacrosse team to put games on the schedule in 2021, faces LaSalle at 4 p.m. today at Franklin Field. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

3. Taylor Moreno has earned the trust of her coaches and teammates alike in Chapel Hill with artistic talent off the field and her ability to turn into a brick wall on it.

4. There were no shortage of outstanding performances at the high school level last week. Here are some of the best.
5. St. Paul’s girls’ lacrosse pulled the upset of the year yesterday afternoon when it stunned national No. 1 McDonogh 16-9. It is the Eagles’ first regular-season loss since 2009.
St. Paul’s, which entered the game 6-0 and had cracked the Top 10 in this week’s Nike / US Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25, is bound to climb even higher.
6. Navy’s one-goal win over Loyola, two weekends after losing 14-10 to the Greyhounds, could be viewed as a breakthrough for Joe Amplo in his second season in Annapolis. He’d prefer to view it as a building block.
