Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Waterdogs are the champions of the Premier Lacrosse League.

It took three years for head coach Andy Copelan to build a winner, but he handpicked his roster from the start to construct a team capable of taking down the defending champion Chaos 11-9 Sunday afternoon in Chester, Pa.

The Waterdogs faced an early deficit but climbed back to knot the score at 5 at halftime. They seized much of the momentum in the second half, and Dillon Ward stood on his head by stopping 58 percent of the shots he faced.

Michael Sowers was named the championship MVP.

Read more from the game from Matt DaSilva, who was on site at Subaru Park.

2. John Grant Jr. has found his next coaching job.

The lacrosse legend has been tabbed head coach of Gerstell Academy, a member of the MIAA “B” conference. Grant Jr. recently wrapped up a short stint as the offensive coordinator at Johns Hopkins. He previously coached at Air Force.

More here.

3. Have your work featured in the “Free Play” section of USA Lacrosse Magazine.

17-year-old Josh Cho did, and he took to Twitter to show off his work — a beautiful poster of Cannons attackman Lyle Thompson.

There’s more to “Free Play” than just your art, essays or poems. The puzzles and games can be surprisingly challenging — so we’ve provided you an answer key for the September/October edition, which is hitting homes now.
