Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Chesapeake Bayhawks scored the game’s final two goals to defeat the Denver Outlaws 10-9 in the Major League Lacrosse championship game Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. The Bayhawks dug deep, especially on defense, to claim the franchise’s sixth MLL title.

Steele Stanwick, who scored the game-winning goal in overtime to defeat the Atlanta Blaze in the semifinals Friday, netted the tying goal and assisted Andrew Kew’s winner from the wing to earn MLL championship game MVP honors.

The Outlaws fell just short of becoming the first MLL team since the 2012-2013 Bayhawks to repeat as league champions. They advanced to the final thanks to a virtuoso performance by John Grant Jr. in a comeback win over Boston in the semifinals.

2. Lyle Thompson added to his personal award stash Saturday night, earning MLL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors. The former two-time Tewaaraton Award winner at Albany was the league’s top scorer with 73 points (46 goals, 27 assists) this season.

3. The Emerson College men’s lacrosse team is still reeling from the death of sophomore goalie Dan Hollis, who died Wednesday after four days in a coma stemming from brain damage he sustained while trying to stop a fight. Boston police are investigating the case as a homicide.

4. Add Troy Reeder to the list of lacrosse stars to go pro in football.

Reeder, the one-time North Carolina lacrosse commit who wound up playing football at Penn State and Delaware, led the Los Angeles Rams in tackles Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks. The rookie linebacker joins Detroit Lions wide receiver Tom Kennedy  (Bryant/Boston Cannons) as former lacrosse players to crack NFL active rosters this fall. Lest we forget Chris Hogan.
