Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The U.S. indoor team traveled to Columbus over the weekend to take part in a three-day training camp at Resolute Athletic Complex. The weekend was highlighted by a 20-minute scrimmage with an eager and energetic Ohio State team.

Nick Myers brought his program up the road to Resolute, where it battled a U.S. team featuring a few couple alums (Dominique Alexander, Kevin Buchanan) in addition to current Buckeye Gale Thorpe.

The weekend served as another warm-up for NLL training camps, which coach Regy Thorpe stressed throughout the three days.

2. Utah men’s lacrosse made its Division I debut — or at least the fall debut — on Saturday at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. Coach Brian Holman and his team held UMBC tight in the first half, but the Retrievers pulled away for the 16-5 victory.

Duke and Towson women also battled in a busy Saturday at US Lacrosse.

FALL BALL SCHEDULE

3. NJIT is headed for the Northeast Conference. After establishing a Division I program in 2013, starting play in 2014-15 and spending four seasons as an independent, NJIT will enter the NEC as the conference’s eventual 10th member.

The NEC has been active this offseason, adding Division II powers Merrimack and LIU Post. Seven NEC core members (Bryant, LIU, Merrimack, Mount St. Mary's, Robert Morris, Sacred Heart and Wagner) will join three associates (NJIT, Hobart and Saint Joseph’s).

4. Wagner hired former Monmouth assistant Bill McCutheon as its next head coach, according to College Crosse. McCutheon replaces former coach Matt Poskay, who left for Montclair State.

5. Shannon Hertz, coach at Bloomsburg, was named the 2018 winner of the Kristina Quigley Scholarship. The award honors former Seton Hill coach, Kristina Quigley, who was killed in a bus accident in 2013 while traveling with her team.
