Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The U.S. women’s national team provided the star power at the IWLCA Presidents Cup in West Palm Beach, Fla., with players serving as guest coaches of the club teams competing in the event, training sessions open to the public and Team USA defeating WPLL Select 19-16 in a 6-on-6 Olympic trial rules exhibition Saturday. There was also a Blue-White game played by traditional World Lacrosse rules. White won 12-11.

2. The Halifax Thunderbirds, formerly the Rochester Knighthawks, filled the barn for their final preseason game.

Team Purple defeated Team Orange 12-11 in an intrasquad exhibition, the first-ever game played on the new turf at Scotiabank Centre. “It’s going to be an unreal place to play,” coach Mike Accursi said, “and a real hard place for visiting teams to come play.”

More NLL preseason scores:

Rochester 15, Philadelphia 11
Buffalo 10, New England 6
Saskatchewan 13, Toronto 10

The regular season starts with three games this weekend — Saskatchewan at Colorado and Calgary at Vancouver on Friday and Georgia at Rochester on Saturday.
