Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The U.S. women’s training team headlined the IWLCA Presidents Cup in Dallas, treating throngs of high school-aged players that lined the field at Harold Patterson Sports Complex to a spectacular Blue-White exhibition Saturday. White defeated Blue 16-7 thanks in part to a six-goal performance by Kayla Treanor, who was celebrating her 28th birthday. The event also served as a homecoming for Tewaaraton Award winner and U.S. hopeful Charlotte North (pictured above).

2. Ireland Lacrosse received its 2020 Musial Award at the Musial Awards ceremony Saturday in St. Louis. The awards are staged annually by the St. Louis Sports Commission to recognize extraordinary acts of sportsmanship.

Ireland Lacrosse, the first-ever honoree from outside North America, earned an award for relinquishing its spot in next summer’s World Games to make way for the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy. Jeremy Redmon wrote previously about the groups’ shared history and culture.

3. National Lacrosse League teams got in their final preseason tune-ups. Among the results:

  • Nick Rose made 30 saves in his preseason debut, leading Toronto to a 14-9 win over Colorado.

  • Mike Triolo scored four goals to lead Panther City to an 11-8 win over Rochester.

  • San Diego held off Halifax for a 16-14 victory.

  • Tyson Gibson and Jake Fox scored fourth-quarter goals to propel New York to a 12-10 victory over Georgia.

The regular season starts Dec. 3.

4. The IWLCA announced its 2020-21 award winners. Johns Hopkins women’s lacrosse coach Janine Tucker took home the coaches association’s top honor, the Diane Geppi-Aikens Memorial Award.
