Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The U.S. men’s U19 team continued its tryout process with a pair of exhibition games against a pair of high school powerhouses during a training weekend at Ohio State.

On Saturday, Culver (Ind.) — the No. 1 ranked team in the Nike/US Lacrosse national rankings — dominated the second quarter en route to a 9-7 win over the U.S. squad.

On Sunday, the U.S. squad bounced back with a strong 14-6 victory over The Hill Academy from Canada.

One of the U.S. hopefuls, Cole Kirst, brings some extra experience to the U.S. squad with a year of college at Lehigh under his belt.

2. The Pan American Lacrosse Associated hosted its inaugural championship, with the Haudenosaunee winning the gold medal over Puerto Rico in a qualifier for the 2021 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship. Six teams competed in the event in Auburndale, Fla.

3. Players from the Premier Lacrosse League and the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League toured Japan last week for action on the field and a memorable cultural sharing exchange off of it.

4. The US Lacrosse West Regional Conference in Las Vegas included a tremendous amount of sharing of knowledge, including adding to the knowledge base of trainers within the US Lacrosse Coach Development Program.

Over 30 trainers attended today’s coach development workshop at the #USLRegionalConference to strengthen their skills for running successful and impactful coaching clinics in the field.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Fomer NHL player Paul Bissonnette tweeted that he could make an NLL roster despite never having played the sport. The Vancouver Warriors will give him that chance.

• Military and cultural connections are helping the sport thrive in Fayetteville, N.C.

• Lacrosse helps with the healing process following a tragic shooting at Saugus (Calif.) High School.

• Grove City (Pa.) will be adding a varsity women’s lacrosse team that will begin play in spring of 2022.
