Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. World Lacrosse announced a bevy of information on Sunday.

The headline-grabber here is that World Lacrosse membership has approved official playing rules for the 6-v-6 discipline. Because this is the first official set of playing rules for the format, there will be “ample opportunities” for further input and refinement.

Also of note from Day Two of the World Lacrosse General Assembly:

  • The senior men’s world championship has moved from 2022 to 2023, the Men’s Box World Championship has moved from 2023 to 2024, and the Women’s U19 World Championship has been moved from 2023 to 2024.

  • The World Lacrosse Board of Directors will make a decision in December on the status of both the Men’s U20 World Championship and the Women’s World Championship.

  • Approval was given to raise the upper age of eligibility of age-group championship to Men’s U20 and Women’s U20.

2. The NCAA has reclassified lacrosse an intermediate risk sport.

Both men’s and women’s lacrosse were previously listed as high risk, but the NCAA has reclassified them both as intermediate risk for COVID-19 transmission, an encouraging bit of news as the spring nears. US Lacrosse has been lobbying the NFHS about making a similar ruling for boys’ lacrosse at the high school level.

3. Eli Manning has joined the ranks of quarterbacks turned lacrosse dads.

The two-time Super Bowl winning signal-caller of the New York Giants posted about lacrosse on Twitter and got the lax world talking.

4. Morgan Alexander is a fighter.

After five knee surgeries, Alexander is back for her sixth year at Syracuse. Roshan Fernandez, a first-time US Lacrosse Magazine contributor, details Alexander’s mindset, motivations and grit in this feature here
