Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Fight improved to 2-0 for the season with a 15-12 win over the Brave to kick of the Women's Professional Lacrosse League action from Richmond this weekend. Played in front of a big crowd during the IWLCA Champions Cup, Katrina Dowd, fresh off a training weekend with the U.S. team, scored four goals and Taylor Cummings had a goal, an assist, four groundballs, five draw controls and three caused turnovers.

In the second game of the weekend, the Pride walloped the Command 18-5 with Halle Majorana scoring four goals, including a two-pointer, and adding three assists. Alex Aust also scored four times and Mollie Stevens had a hat trick.

2. The Whipsnakes improved to 3-0 in the Premier Lacrosse League, winning its third straight overtime game, this time against the previously undefeated Archers. For the second weekend in a row, Towson's Ryan Drenner played the hero on the Maryland-dominated Whipsnakes squad.

In the other games, Josh Byrne scored in overtime to lead Chaos to a 12-11 win over Redwoods and the Atlas got their first win, beating Chrome 13-12 as Connor Buczek scored the game-winning goal with 48 seconds remaining.

3. In the lone Major League Lacrosse game of the weekend, Lyle Thompson had five goals and two assists to lead the Chesapeake Bayhawks to a 16-14 win over the New York Lizards. The Bayhawks improved to 2-0 and are tied with the Boston Cannons at the top of the standings. Here's one of Thompson's five goals.

4. We wrapped up our way-early NCAA Division I women's rankings last week and North Carolina, with a loaded roster of returning talent, comes in at No. 1.

5. Andrew Stimmel is taking over as the new head coach at Marquette. Stimmel, an assistant coach with the 2020 U.S. Men's U19 team, had been an assistant coach at Yale.
