Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
In less than two weeks, lacrosse will be played and the results will matter.
Both Major League Lacrosse and the Premier Lacrosse League are looking to capitalize on the community’s appetite for the real thing with condensed seasons that will be played in a bubble and televised nationally.
MLL announced Thursday it would stage a weeklong campaign July 18-26 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md., with a supportive nod from Gov. Larry Hogan, who called Maryland “the nation’s epicenter for lacrosse.”
The MLL semifinals and championship will overlap with the start of the PLL Championship Series, a fanless quarantined tournament that will take place July 25-Aug. 9 at Zions Bank Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The PLL announced its 22-man rosters Thursday and suggested on social media that it would unveil team uniforms and the TV schedule this week. The PLL games will be on NBC Sports networks. The MLL games will be on ESPN networks.
