Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Lyle Thompson is making his presence felt for the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The Bayhawks snapped a four-game losing streak with a convincing 19-9 win over Rochester on Sunday night before an announced crowd of over 10,000 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. Thompson had five goals and two assists as the Bayhawks dominated the second half, scoring the last nine goals of the game, including a two-pointer by rookie Jake Froccaro.

2. The Bayhawks weren’t the only MLL team to register a blowout as Atlanta torched Florida 17-4 on Saturday. The Blaze led just 4-3 after one quarter, but held the Launch to just one goal in the final 47 minutes of the game. Kevin Rice had five goals and two assists in the win and Adam Ghitelman made 12 saves.

3. Gavin Jones was a repeat winner in the US Lacrosse #WallBall Challenge, powered by SNYPR. Gavin finished with 58,960 reps in the month of June to repeat after winning the inaugural contest last year.

4. Just over a week ago, Notre Dame All-American Ryder Garnsey was granted a release that would allow him to transfer, but on Friday, Garnsey announced via Twitter that was staying with the Irish. Garnsey led the Irish with 23 assists and 43 points last season.

5. North Carolina recruit Ally Mastroianni was named the Epoch/US Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Girls Player of the Year after leading Bridgewater-Raritan to its first New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament of Champions title. Mastroianni had 72 goals, 35 assists, 109 ground balls and 124 draw controls and finished her career with 349 goals and 212 assists in four varsity seasons.

6. Longtime Upper Arlington (Ohio) High School coach Ted Wolford had the field at the school named in his honor.

What We’re Reading

• College Crosse is reporting the National Lacrosse League is set to add teams in San Diego and Philadelphia for 2019.

• Johns Hopkins commit Connor DeSimone was named the MVP of the Under Armour All-America Boys Lacrosse game on Saturday.

• Duke-bound Charlotte North took home MVP honors in the Under Armour girls game, scoring the game-winner in OT for the South.

• Brooke Point (Va.) high school player Jordan Jimeno suffered a lacerated kidney in a lacrosse game that had him confined to a hospital bed for eight days, but he’s determined to get back on the field.

What We’re Watching

If Joel White made this play with a short stick, it would be sweet. The fact that he did it with a longpole just isn’t fair. His goal drew raves from other players around the league and commentator Evan Washburn called it "Easily one of the most impressive plays I have seen in 7 years calling MLL lacrosse games."
