1. Izzy Scane will miss the entire 2022 season.
Scane, one of the best attackers in college lacrosse, announced Sunday that she’ll miss the spring season after having surgery to repair a torn ACL. The Northwestern star suffered the injury during fall ball.
Scane scored 98 goals for the Wildcats in 2021, the third-highest single-season total in Division I women’s lacrosse history.

2. Utica men’s lacrosse coach Mike Parnell has died.
Parnell, 45, helped start the Utica program as a player and was the team’s head coach for the past 14 years.

4. Another new women’s lacrosse program is coming.
In this era of expansion, the University of Rhode Island will join the fray of the Atlantic 10 in the 2024-25 academic year. It is the school’s first varsity program added since 1996, when it added women’s rowing.
