Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Connor Fields said it’s weird getting booed in Albany.

The former Great Dane played the role of spoiler Saturday, scoring the game-winning goal with 4:05 remaining to lift the Rochester Knighthawks to a 14-13 win over the Albany FireWolves at MVP Arena.

Fields, who finished with four goals and four assists, currently leads the league with 12 goals and 25 points in three games for the unbeaten Knighthawks.

In other NLL Week 3 action:

• Christian Del Bianco made 48 saves and Haiden Dickson scored four goals to lead the Calgary Roughnecks to a 14-5 win Friday over the Vancouver Warriors at Rogers Arena.

• Las Vegas showed out for the Desert Dogs’ first-ever home game Friday, but for the second time in a week, Vegas fell short against last year’s expansion team. Brothers Will and Tony Malcom combined for six points and Nick Damude made 30 saves to lead Panther City Lacrosse Club to a 9-3 victory before a crowd of 7,072 at Michelob Ultra Arena.

• Tehoka Nanticoke scored three goals, Chris Cloutier and Josh Byrne contributed two goals apiece and Matt Vinc made 50 saves as the Buffalo Bandits defeated the Toronto Rock 11-8 at First Ontario Centre on Saturday.

• It was another classic between the Philadelphia Wings and Georgia Swarm. Rookie Hunter Lemieux scored the eventual game-winning goal with 2:28 left to lift the Wings to a 13-12 victory at Gas South Arena on Saturday, their first win of the season. Philadelphia trailed 10-7 going into the fourth quarter but scored five straight goals and held on for the win.

• The Halifax Thunderbirds scored a franchise single-game record 20 goals in a 20-11 victory Saturday over the New York Riptide at Nassau Coliseum. Ryan Benesch led the onslaught with five goals and four assists.

• The defending NLL champion Colorado Mammoth picked up their first win of the season Saturday, defeating the Panther City Lacrosse Club 12-9 at Dickies Arena. Eli McLaughlin led the way with four goals and three assists.

2. Tom Schreiber is back on top of the Premier Lacrosse League Top 50.

Schreiber earned the No. 1 spot in a ranking of PLL players as voted on by the players themselves. The Atlas midfielder was also No. 1 in 2020 and No. 2 in 2021 behind Chaos goalie Blaze Riorden.

3. Joe Nardella tore the ACL in his right knee during the U.S. national team’s training camp, Inside Lacrosse reported Friday. The Albany FireWolves and Whipsnakes LC faceoff specialist expects to undergo surgery in January. He will miss the remainder of the NLL season and the entire 2023 PLL season.
