Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Ohio’s steady progression of improvement reached the summit when the Machine dominated the fourth quarter to beat Denver 17-12 on Saturday night to win the franchises’ first Major League Lacrosse Championship. The Machine, who blew a seven-goal lead in last year’s championship game against Denver, scored the final seven goals of the game, including three straight by game MVP Marcus Holman to break a 12-12 tie.

2. On Friday night, the MLL Honors ceremony was held and Ohio’s Tom Schreiber brought home the league MVP award for the second straight season. He joined John Grant Jr. as the only players in league history to win consecutive MVP awards. Schreiber was one of five Ohio players named the All-MLL team.

3. Cornell began last season 0-5 before starting to turn things around at the end of the season. The Big Red won five of their final eight games and featured one of the nation’s best freshmen in Jeff Teat (school freshman record 72 points.) Interim head coach Peter Milliman will look to continue the momentum as the Big Red looks to move back to the top of the Ivy League.

4. Coquitlam defeated Mimico 10-4 on Sunday to earn a shot at taking down the Six Nations Arrows in the Minto Cup championship series. Six Nations, led by top college prospects Tehoka Nanticoke and Austin Staats, went 3-0 during round-robin play, including a 9-2 win over defending champion Coquitlam in the event todetermine the top junior men’s team in Canada. The best-of-five finals begin on Tuesday.
