Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The highlight of the men’s lacrosse weekend might have been the highlight of 2019 season. What better occasion for it to happen than the 100th Army-Navy game.
Matt Manown scored a goal he will never forget, pushing his way in and diving for the overtime game-winner to give Army the 9-8 victory at Annapolis. Chaos ensued. Patrick Stevens followed with this great story.
In other men’s action, Duke picked up a crucial 12-7 victory over Virginia — handing the Cavaliers their first ACC loss. Syracuse got by North Carolina 12-9 on the road.
Boston U earned the biggest upset of the weekend, downing No. 3 Loyola 18-11 in Allston, Mass on Saturday. Ohio State downed Johns Hopkins at Homewood to cap Sunday, which included a Cornell win over Notre Dame and a Maryland victory over Rutgers.

2. North Carolina flexed its muscles in women’s lacrosse action this weekend, picking up an 11-5 win over No. 3 Syracuse in ACC play. Katie Hoeg had a career-high six assists to lead the Tar Heels to the impressive win.
Also in women’s action over a scattered weekend, the Ivy League just got more interesting. Dartmouth turned a halftime deficit into an upset win over No. 8 Penn to make it four teams with one loss in conference play.
Friday, Stanford got a game-winning goal from Katherine Gjertsen to get past Colorado in overtime. Sunday, Stony Brook beat USC for its third win in six days and JMU survived a test from Hofstra.

3. Salisbury survived a thrilling War on the Shore against Washington College on Saturday. Zach Pompea scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Sea Gulls the 15-14 win. Pompea tied the game with 2.9 seconds left in regulation.
Also in small college, No. 1 Adelphi went down to Le Moyne in Division II action. In addition, unbeaten No. 3 Mercy was upset by Mercyhurst. Big changes coming in the Division II rankings.
4. The Saskatchewan Rush are entering the stretch run of the NLL season with a four-game win streak, thanks to victories over San Diego (14-8) and Philadelphia (16-11) in consecutive days.
Elsewhere in the NLL, the Toronto Rock clinched a top 3 seed in the East with a 13-12 win over New England. Buffalo also took over first in the East with a Georgia loss to Calgary.
