Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The two U.S. indoor teams each won their openers at the Lacrosse All Stars North American Invitational yesterday, as Connor Kelly proved to be a quick study at the indoor game.

Kelly, in his first indoor game ever, scored three goals and distributed two assists to help Team USA Blue to an 11-2 win over the Czech developmental team at the Onondaga Nation Fieldhouse. Team USA White shut out the Akwesasne Aces, 10-0, yesterday behind two goals and two assists from Jake Pulver.

U.S. indoor coach Regy Thorpe is using LASNAI as the first round of tryouts for the 2019 Team USA squad that will compete in the FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship next September. Team USA White will play Casey Powell World Lacrosse at 8:30 a.m. ET today. Team USA Blue will play LaserSharks Blanco at 10:10 a.m. (event website).

2. New Jersey native Matt Poskay is returning to the Garden State, having resigned as Wagner coach to take the same position at Montclair State.

Poskay, who coached the Seahawks for seven seasons, replaces the late Mike Schambach. He passed away June 14 after a battle against colon cancer. Poskay previously was an assistant at Drew and coached at his high school alma mater, both in New Jersey.

3. “Angels are everywhere.” That’s once again true in the lacrosse community, a segment of which has rallied around former Fox Lane (N.Y.) High School player Tony Ciccone.

Ciccone was paralyzed during a game in his senior season of 2001 and remains a quadriplegic. The local lacrosse community started the Laxin4Tony event in 2010 to help Ciccone defray costs from uninsured medical expenses.

“The [lacrosse] community became our angel,” Linda Ciccone, Tony’s mother, said.

4. The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is tomorrow in Hunt Valley, Md., and former U.S. women’ touring team player Leigh Buck Friedman is among the nine-member class of 2018.

Buck Friedmann’s 1975 U.S. touring team will be one of two honored this evening by US Lacrosse in its “Team of Distinction” ceremony.

5. Speaking of hall of famers, US Lacrosse has announced that Temple coach and 2010 inductee Bonnie Rosen will be a speaker at LaxCon.

The annual US Lacrosse Convention is set for Philadelphia Jan. 11-13, 2019, and tickets are on sale now at considerable discounts vs. walk-up prices.
