Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Kayla Treanor made her first hire a splashy one, tabbing former Boston College two-sport star Kenzie Kent as an assistant coach at Syracuse. Kent, the nation’s top scorer as a senior in 2019, spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Harvard. As a player, she led BC to national championship games in 2017 and 2019. She also led the BC ice hockey team to three Frozen Fours. Kent and Treanor played together over the summer in Athletes Unlimited and with the U.S. national team.

2. On the eve of 9/11, Kenny DeJohn captured the story of two diehard lacrosse communities — Manhasset (N.Y.) and Garden City (N.Y.) — deeply affected by the tragedy and the healing role a lacrosse shop played in the aftermath.

3. USA Lacrosse announced the return of SheCompetes, a free virtual series taking place Sept. 21-23.
