1. Joey Spallina is ready to take on the pressure of being the No. 1 recruit in the 2022 class. He’s grown up around more college and professional teams that anyone in his class — his father, Joe, is the head coach of Stony Brook women’s lacrosse and a former coach of the New York Lizards.

Kenny DeJohn dives into the background of the highlight-reel talent out of Mount Sinai (N.Y.) who committed to Syracuse on Sept. 15. Check it out now.

2. Out of 1,273 men’s college lacrosse coaches, only 3 percent are Black.

The growth of the game among Black players in ongoing, but the progress made on coaching staffs is much slower. Brian Simpkins celebrates the 15 Black men’s college lacrosse head coach in this week’s Blaxers Blog piece.
