Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The countdown to Israel is less than a year, and the U.S. men's team will have two more opportunities to prepare for the world championship with this weekends' Team USA Fall Classic at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.. Coach John Danowski will use split squads against Maryland on Saturday night and Towson on Sunday afternoon, including watching his son Matt go for the Blue team on Saturday.

2. Maryland coach John Tillman says the Terps are ready to put the 2017 NCAA championship to bed, but the Terps won't just be preparing for 2018 with Saturday's game against Team USA. Tillman says his team will use some tactics to help the U.S. team prepare for archrival Canada. “We want to help this U.S. team get better,” Tillman said. Ten current or former Terps are on the U.S. team.

3. National Lacrosse Hall of Fame coach Cindy Timchal has been announced as a featured speaker for the 2018 US Lacrosse Convention. Timchal, who won eight national championships at Maryland, is coming off a season in which she led Navy on a surprising run to the NCAA semifinals, becoming the first service academy to do so in a women's team sport.

4. A battle with cancer denied Trina Mangano the opportunity to officiate at the World Cup last summer, but the longtime official hasn't changed her positive outlook.

5. He’s still at it. Everyone’s favorite football/lacrosse crossover star, Chris Hogan, had eight catches for 74 yards and a touchdown as New England beat Tampa Bay 19-14 last night.
