Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. US Lacrosse will host the Team USA Fall Classic this weekend, and here’s how you can watch it.

Of course, if you’re in or near Baltimore this weekend, you can still get discounted tickets in advance, at a savings of $5 vs. walk-up, for Saturday’s doubleheader at Tierney Field in Sparks, Md. It kicks off with the U.S. men’s team playing defending national champion Yale at noon, followed at approximately 3 p.m. by the U.S. women’s team taking on defending national champion James Madison.

We’ll have previews of each later today.

2. A big week for the US Lacrosse National Teams Program continued yesterday, as U.S. men’s indoor team coach Regy Thorpe was named a speaker at LaxCon.

Thorpe, also an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Syracuse, will lead Team USA into the 2019 Federation of International Lacrosse World Indoor Championship next fall. He recently named 32 players to the U.S. training team following a larger group’s split-squad participation in the Lacrosse All Stars North American Invitational.

Thorpe will be making his second consecutive appearance at the US Lacrosse Convention, which next will take place Jan. 11-13, 2019, in Philadelphia. Early bird registration, at a $70 savings vs. walk-up, continues through Oct. 31.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Former Syracuse All-American and Team USA player Mike Powell is a guest on Brent Axe’s Syracuse Sports Podcast.

• WAVE-TV Channel 3 in Louisville, Ky., produced a print and video story on two high school lacrosse teams playing a charity game to benefit a local mental health services provider, in the wake of a suicide by a young player last year.

• College Crosse previewed the 2019 Jacksonville men’s schedule.

• The Livingston County News (N.Y.) reported on Finger Lakes Community College’s decision to restart a women’s lacrosse team beginning with the 2019-20 academic year.

• Inside Lacrosse spent some time at Maryland for a fall ball report.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

Lax Sports Network, on which the Team USA Fall Classic will be streamed tomorrow, interviewed Yale faceoff midfielder TD Ierlan. After two All-American seasons, including a record-setting 2018 campaign, at Albany, Ierlan made “probably the toughest decision of my life” to transfer.
