Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Our college fall ball coverage continued Thursday with an early look at Marquette men’s lacrosse under first-year head coach Andrew Stimmel  — who sounds a lot like some of his former bosses — and a story on the unique IWLCA-One Love Foundation collaboration to stage six clinics with more than 60 women’s coaches on the same weekend while educating young women about healthy and unhealthy relationships.

2. U.S. team coaches John Danowski (field) and Regy Thorpe (indoor) will be among featured speakers to the 2020 US Lacrosse Convention (Lax Con), US Lacrosse announced Thursday. Lax Con is Jan. 10-12 in Philadelphia. Fan Fest tickets went on sale Wednesday.

WHAT WE’RE READING

  • The New York Post and Daily News each published follow-up stories in which they interviewed the family of Justin Corpolongo, the former St. John’s men’s lacrosse player who was stabbed in a near-fatal fight with his roommate and current Red Storm co-captain Matthew Stockfeder. Corpolongo is still recovering from surgery, which included the removal of part of his small intestines.

  • Why be a goalie? A narrative spin on the position by the Linfield Review.

  • Former Virginia defenseman and one-time Lacrosse Magazine cover boy Michael Culver has resurfaced on campus as chief marketing officer for an electric cargo bike company piloting its product in Charlottesville.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

Matt Gibson is mesmerizing.

Looks like the lacrosse field at the Urban Community School in Cleveland is being put to good use. The Near West Side facility was installed as part of the Lacrosse Communities Project, a US Lacrosse initiative that has been piloted in Albany, Brooklyn and Cleveland.

WHAT’S ON TAP

  • The last weekend of college fall ball includes the annual Lee-Jackson Classic featuring Lexington, Va., mates Washington and Lee and VMI, as well as some powerful women’s lacrosse lineups in the D.C. and Boston areas. Georgetown hosts James Madison, Penn State and Richmond on Saturday, while Boston College, Northwestern and Syracuse will compete in a tri-scrimmage Sunday Cohasset (Mass.) High School.
