Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. An upset loss to Boston University in the Patriot League semifinals was painful enough for Bucknell’s men’s lacrosse team. The pain that came a couple of weeks later — a “no” from the NCAA selection committee was even worse. The motivation has the Bison optimistic as the 2019 season approaches.

2. After an amazing run at Moorestown (N.J.) High School, Deanna Knobloch and her husband, K.C. Knobloch, have announced their retirement from coaching the school’s powerhouse girls’ lacrosse program. In 27 years, Moorestown won 15 state titles and put together a record of 580-46-4

3. National Lacrosse Hall of Famer Sharon Pfluger can certainly coach a little bit. She’s won 514 games and 11 national championships as the women’s lacrosse coach at The College of New Jersey. This week, she earned her 600^th career win as TCNJ’s field hockey coach. Wow indeed.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• Athleticism is one of Ryan Conrad’s key attributes, but so is determination. After a knee injury sidelined him for the majority of Virginia’s 2018 season, Conrad is chomping at the bit to get back on the field, but the Cavaliers are taking a cautious approach with their star midfielder and U.S. U19 alum.

• The Presidents Athletic Conference will welcome back men’s and women’s lacrosse to the Division III league in 2019.

• Annalisa Flud, the younger sister of San Diego State player Isabella Flud, is starring in three sports and in the classroom at Poway (Calif.) High School.

• US Lacrosse has named Next College Student Athlete (NCSA) as its official responsible recruiting services provider.

• T.J. Buchanan, technical director for athlete development at US Lacrosse, weighs in with the “Three D’s for a Successful Practice.”

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

The debut of Jenny Levy as the head coch of the U.S. women's national team resulted in a hard-fought 14-10 victory over James Madison. The US Lacrosse video team with highlights from the Team USA victory.

R.J. Kaminski of The Lacrosse Network certainly had a fun-time on the sidelines, in the crowd and just about everywhere during the U.S. men's team 12-7 victory over Yale on Saturday.

WHAT’S ON TAP

• It's another busy weekend of fall ball action, including two events at US Lacrosse. Denver, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Louisville, Niagara, Stanford will play in the Georgetown Invitational on Saturday on Tierney Field, with Lax Sports Network providing live look-ins. On Sunday, Stanford will hsost Georgetown and Penn State at US Lacrosse.
