1. Virginia hoped the extra year of eligibility afforded spring sport athletes would bring Dox Aitken back to the Cavaliers this year after playing football at Villanova in the fall. But Villanova’s postponement of the football season until the spring due to COVID-19 means that Aitken’s sole focus is now on making the most of pursuing his dream of playing college football.

5. Uganda has become the first full member of World Lacrosse on the continent of Africa.

• The Capital Athletic Conference, historically one of the nation’s top Division III men’s and women’s lacrosse conferences, is rebranding itself as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference. The new league currently features 11 full-member programs from seven states.

• Washington earned the top spot in the MCLA’s Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League preseason coaches poll, just edging out Oregon.
