Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The long-awaited news of a Major League Lacrosse team coming to Dallas was finally realized yesterday with the announcement that the Rattlers will begin play at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas in 2018. Forbes writes that though the Cowboys haven’t invested financially in the Rattlers, the two teams have developed a marketing partnership. The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle covers the Rattlers move from the city.

There was much excitement on social – in part due the successful MLL championship game played at the facility last summer – but also regret about Rochester losing its team.

2. Cindy Timchal is a member of the inaugural IWLCA Hall of Fame class and was inducted at the organization’s annual meeting yesterday. It’s the eighth of hall of fame of her illustrious career, but Justin Feil writes how Navy’s Cinderella run last year added another big boost to her legacy.

3. Former Wesleyan player Field Yates has made a name for himself on ESPN and is now best known for his NFL coverage, but he hasn’t forgotten his lacrosse roots.

4. The population of Montana ranks just 44th in terms of size in the U.S., but geography-wise, it’s the nation’s fourth largest state. That hasn’t stopped the growth of lacrosse.

5. According to the NCAA, lacrosse has the highest percentage of high school players going on to play at the collegiate level. Of note, this chart uses NFHS data only, and there are tens of thousands of high school players competing for teams not included in NFHS data.
