Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The Ivy League has postponed the start of spring sports.
The news coincided with the conference’s decision to cancel winter sports for the 2020-21 season and not play fall sports during the spring semester.
“Student-athletes, their families and coaches are again being asked to make enormous sacrifices for the good of public health — and we do not make this decision lightly. While these decisions come with great disappointment and frustration, our commitment to the safety and lasting health of our student-athletes and wider communities must remain our highest priority,” the Ivy League Council of Presidents offered in a joint statement.
“We look forward to the day when intercollegiate athletics — which are such an important part of the fabric of our campus communities — will safely return in a manner and format we all know and appreciate.”
Last March, the Ivy League was the first conference to cancel competition in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic

2. The PLL named Brian Silcott its Head of Player Experience.
A two-time All-American at Nazareth who played 11 years professionally, Silcott’s resume in the game is long and wide-ranging. A member of the US Lacrosse Board of Directors, he previously served as the National Men’s Game Director for USL and currently is the Director of Operations for Jamaica Lacrosse and the Executive Director of Firehawks Lacrosse Club in Redwood City, Calif.
From a college champion and DIII midfielder of the year to a pioneer player in pro lacrosse, Brian's been an EVP in the NLL, he's helped build the youth game out west, has college coaching experience, and sits on the board of USL. I actually can't think of anyone better suited. https://t.co/fy3nWCinp8

Excited that @btsilcott will be working with and building relationships with guys across the game. Truly selfless coach and mentor who changed the trajectory of my career 10x from the first time we met winter of my sophomore year at Rutgers. Lets go Silc! https://t.co/s1SNExJCfs

The PLL also announced yesterday it would be releasing a coffee table book that features 80-plus pages of untold stories and unseen pictures from this summer’s two-week, fanless and fully quarantined Championship Series.
3. Seth Tierney has earned no shortage of accolades.
The 15-year Hofstra men’s head coach and assistant coach on the gold-medal winning United States Men’s National Team in 2018 will add another to that list when he’s inducted into the Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame.
4. Blaxers Blog recognized some of the professional game’s brightest stars who have Indigenous roots in honor of Native American Heritage Month.
