Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Premier Lacrosse League announced that its College Draft will be held Wednesday night on NBC Sports Network.

The two-round, 14-pick draft will be comprised of graduating college seniors. Athletes who choose to take advantage of the NCAA’s eligibility waiver to return to school will not be draft eligible.

Archers LC have the first pick. More here.

2. In the days leading up to the draft, we should begin to hear more about which players will be returning to school or going pro. Thursday evening, Notre Dame’s Bryan Costabile said that a job opportunity at Under Armour was too good to pass up, so he’ll be moving on from the Irish.

He also declared for the PLL draft.

3. Notre Dame lost Costabile but gained two transfers. According to Ty Xanders of Inside Lacrosse, Penn’s Kyle Gallagher and Kyle Thornton will both head to South Bend. This will be the second time Gallagher, a faceoff specialist, transfers. He left Hofstra after his sophomore season to join the Quakers.

4. Staff writer Nelson Rice spoke to several players and coaches in the PLL about the upcoming 20-game, 16-day Championship Series tournament that will be held later this summer in lieu of a full season.

As you’d expect, everyone involved seems eager to get back on the field. This will certainly be different, though, cramming so many games into a short period of time.

“You look at a normal season like a marathon,” Waterdogs LC defenseman Brodie Merrill said. “This will feel more like a sprint.”

More here.

5. Big news on the WPLL front appears to be on the way. What that is remains to be seen, but check back to USLaxMagazine.com throughout the day Friday to find out.
