Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. It was a busy day on and off the field in college lacrosse. Off the field, two prominent men’s lacrosse jobs will open with Navy reportedly letting Rick Sowell go and Harvard removing Chris Wojczik as head coach.
2. Three No. 1 seeds went down in conference men’s lacrosse tournaments Thursday with Drexel beating UMass, UMBC topping Stony Brook and Robert Morris knocking off Mount St. Mary’s. Lucky for at-large hopefuls, none are considered a threat to be a bid thief come Sunday.

The most notable result was Johns Hopkins beating rival Maryland for the second time in less than a week. The Blue Jays are very much back in the NCAA tournament picture heading into Saturday’s Big Ten championship game against Penn State.
3. There were no major surprises in the semifinal round of eight NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse tournaments on Thursday, but plenty of notable performances. Among them:

4. Patrick Stevens weekly men’s notebook looks at Notre Dame’s Kevin Corrigan’s handling of a competitive goalie situation and the progress made by Cleveland State in the third year of the program.
5. The nation’s top women’s college club lacrosse teams will head to Virginia Beach next week for the US Lacrosse Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates national championship. Paul Ohanian previews the event.

Zach Tripp started at attack for Augora (Calif.) High School as a freshman. With the team looking for a goalie the next year, Tripp volunteered to make a position switch. Now the senior is getting ready to play at the University of Utah.

Middle Township (N.J.) junior Kira Sides excels in basketball and soccer, but lacrosse is the sport she’ll play in college at LaSalle.

A lacrosse injury ended Brendin Duckett’s career at Carthage College, but gave him the opportunity to pursue new interests off the field after he transferred to Virginia.
WHAT WE’RE WATCHING
Some great sportsmanship at the end of the Georgetown – Providence Big East semifinal. CBS Sports Network cameras showed Georgetown head coach Kevin Warne talking with Providence goalie Tate Boyce after the game, and then there was this exchange between Georgetown’s Daniel Bucaro and Providence’s Matt Grillo — both are graduates of Long Island power Ward Melville.
