Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Major League Lacrosse teams have been busy locking up draft picks and filling out their 40-man rosters.

Michael Kraus (Virginia) and Colin Burke (Utah) — the No. 2 and No. 3 selections in last week’s college draft, respectively — signed contracts with their MLL teams Thursday.

Kraus, who had the option of playing in the Premier Lacrosse League as a first-round pick of Waterdogs LC, instead inked a two-year deal with the Connecticut Hammerheads. The three-time All-American attackman out of Virginia is from New Canaan, Conn.

Burke, the first-ever player drafted out of Utah, also chose his hometown team. He signed with the New York Lizards. Burke started his college career as a two-time All-CAA attackman at Fairfield before transferring to Utah. He played high school ball at Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.).

Earlier this week, the Chesapeake Bayhawks secured their first-round pick, signing Yale long pole Will Weitzel.

Other notable signings: Penn defenseman Mark Evanchick (Philadelphia Barrage, No. 9 overall pick), Towson midfielder Jon Mazza (Philadelphia Barrage, No. 10 overall), Marquette midfielder Luke Anderson (Chesapeake Bayhawks, No. 36 overall), Virginia faceoff specialist Justin Schwenk (Philadelphia Barrage, No. 39 overall), Albany goalie Nate Siekerski (Denver  Outlaws, No. 41 overall) and Army attackman Miles Silva (Denver Outlaws, No. 47 overall).

2. IWLCA president Kathy Taylor issued a statement supporting the NCAA Division I Council’s decision to extend the recruiting dead period through June 30 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The coaches association had already canceled all of its summer recruiting events.

“There is bound to be disappointment and even some anxiety in knowing we will not be able to take part in the recruiting activities we’re all accustomed to,” said Taylor, also the head coach at Colgate. “However, I am confident we will figure it out together.”

3. Chaos LC added to a position of strength and gambled biggest in the PLL draft, Nelson Rice writes in a full recap of the draft. All eyes are on Cornell star Jeff Teat.
