1. Virginia announced that star midfielder Ryan Conrad will miss the rest of the 2018 season due to a “lower extremity injury.” According to the team, Conrad was injured in Sunday’s loss to Syracuse.
Conrad has played a key role on the Virginia midfield since he came to Charlottesville as the top recruit in the country in 2016. He had four goals and three assists in five games this season.
“All of Ryan's teammates and coaches are heartbroken for our captain and leader,” coach Lars Tiffany said. “A warrior on the lacrosse field, losing the opportunity to compete is especially difficult for Ryan. We know he will be with us every step moving forward, guiding his fellow Virginia Cavaliers with his passionate words of encouragement.”
2. Connor Kelly has evolved into the quarterback of the Maryland offense this season. Saturday’s win over Notre Dame — in which he dropped 10 points on three goals and seven assists — served as a coming-out party of sorts for the new Kelly.
The Fighting Irish couldn't find a stop to the quarterback Kelly, who had just 11 assists last year. Despite the historic performance, Kelly is intent on praising his teammates.
“What led me to love lacrosse more than any other sport I’ve played are been the players and the mentors that have been around me,” Kelly said.

3. Colorado and Stanford have the same goal when they meet in the first Pac-12 women’s lacrosse game tonight — to keep the momentum going. Both teams had shaky starts to the 2018 season, but have responded with wins over high-quality opponents like Virginia Tech and Duke.
For Colorado, this season has been a challenge with the death of senior attacker Julia Sarcona, but the team has come together. Stanford and coach Amy Bokker are continuing to prove themselves on a national stage.
It goes down tonight at 5 p.m. ET.
4. Cincinnati continued a strong season with a 17-11 blowout win over Campbell. McKenna Rushford led the way with five goals to help the Bearcats move to 6-1.

5. Owen Curry scored three goals, including two in the second half, to lead No. 18 Roanoke past No. 14 Dickinson 13-9 on Thursday night. After leading at halftime, Roanoke scored eight second-half goals to hold off Dickinson late.

In men's Division II action, No. 13 Adelphi was victorious in a big way over St. Thomas Aquinas, winning in 22-7. No. 8 Colorado Mesa and No. 18 Rockhurst were also victorious on Thursday.
