Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. In our Division I women projected rankings, two final four teams from this past season slot into the Nos. 6-10 group. Boston College, which shocked the country with a championship game run, and Penn State, which made its second straight final four, find themselves in the way-early top 10.
2. Our way-early projections for Division I men continued into the top 10, with the Nos. 6-10 group. National runners-up Ohio State made the cut, along with a Hofstra team that started strong in 2017, but eventually missed the tournament.
Check out the rest of the group, which includes a recent champion and a Big Ten competitor.
3. The Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. In a world that’s seeing more youth sports becoming privatized, the MBYLL remains steadfast in its commitment to the public model.
With help from volunteers like former UMass star Jim Connolly, the MBYLL breaks down the pillars to its success, even after two-and-a-half decades.
