Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Asher Nolting, Brent Adams and Kris Alleyne explained to US Lacrosse Magazine’s Matt Hamilton why they decided to speak up about recent racial injustices.

“Normally, I’m not one to put my thoughts out like this,” Nolting said. “This time was one of those times where I needed to speak up and talk about this stuff. We have a long way to go, so I just keep looking forward to keeping the focus on this issue.”

Adams and Alleyne expressed similar sentiments. Alleyne said that even though it’s scary, “it’s also beautiful seeing how many people are getting together to have these tough conversations.”

Adams thinks “people peacefully coming together is really the most powerful thing that can happen.”

2. Despite hopes to resume the NLL season and play the playoffs, commissioner Nick Sakiewicz announced Thursday that the postseason is canceled. Instead, all effort will be placed on planning the league’s upcoming 35^th season.

Some players, however, were caught off guard by the announcement, which was made in a Twitter video message by the commissioner.

3. On this week’s episode of “Overtime” with Paul Carcaterra, take the opportunity to learn more about Devon Wills, one of the most decorated athletes in our sport’s history.

“Lacrosse was introduced to me at the right time,” she said, “and it took over and became a new passion to replace what hockey was for me growing up.”
