Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1.  US Lacrosse will celebrate Olympic Day at its national headquarters today. This is one of nearly 2,000 events taking place around the country during the month of June, and will feature US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen, Olympic Slalom Canoeist, Ashley Nee, a LADM players clinic and competitions for the final day of the US Lacrosse WallBall Challenge.

2. Less than 18 months ago, Greg Coholan was the No. 6 overall pick in the Major League Lacrosse draft. On June 17, he made his debut with the Boston Cannons, the team that drafted him, but not before stops in Chesapeake and Atlanta. Such has been the fate for many of the players in the 2016 MLL Draft. Five of the first 10 overall picks were traded at least once before their second season in the league.

3. The New York Lizards picked up a big win on Thursday night, beating league-leading Ohio 15-14. The Lizards scored the final three goals of the game, including a two-pointer by Joe LoCascio with under a minute to play to rally for the win. It was LoCascio's first game with the Lizards. Another player making his Lizards debut, Will Manny, scored five goals.

4. The transfer train keeps rolling along in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse. Terry Foy of Inside Lacrosse listed a host of potential transfers yesterday, including former Virginia goalie Matt Barrett going to Villanova.

5. Kayla Treanor is getting ready to head to Europe with the U.S. womens' team, and she'll have a new job when she returns. Treanor is joining the staff at Boston College - a team coached for former U.S. World Cup champion Acacia Walker.

6. Harvard-bound Bryn Evans is the Epoch/US Lacrosse West Player of the Year. Evans, a midfielder, led St. Ignatius (Calif.) to a 19-2 record and No. 5 overall ranking while scoring 47 goals with 11 assists.

7. Eric Wolf was named as the new men's lacrosse coach at LIU Post. John Jez was let go by the school despite compiling a record of 129-41 in 11 seasons and winning NCAA Division II championships in 2009 and 2010.

What We’re Watching

Virginia coach Lars Tiffany says his players love competing in small-sided games, and he thinks the benefits for youth players are even bigger.

What’s on Tap

• There's a light schedule in the MLL for the holiday weekend with just two games. Florida, which had a three-game winning streak snapped by Charlotte last week, heads to Atlanta on Saturday. On Sunday, Chesapeake looks to snap a four-game losing streak when it hosts Rochester. The last three losses in that streak have come by a combined total of just four goals.

• The Under Armour High School All-American games take place at Towson University on Saturday night.
