Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Major League Lacrosse yesterday announced the rosters for its annual All-Star Game, which is set for July 8 at Papa Murphy's Park in Sacramento, Calif. New York Lizard Joe Walter earned his league-leading ninth selection to the game, followed by teammate Paul Rabil's eighth. Denver and Ohio had seven players selected, most in the league by a team. US Lacrosse members can purchase discounted tickets to the game.
2. Almost on cue, MLL All-Star Marcus Holman scored five goals, including this game winner, and added two assists to lead the Ohio Machine to a 16-15 overtime win at Boston. The win moved Ohio into a first-place tie with Denver at 5-2.
3. The new Women's Professional Lacrosse League will help to develop leaders, according to founder Michele DeJuliis.
4. Inaugural St. Bonaventure men's coach Randy Mearns is excited to build a winner at the small private college in Western New York.
