1. Three delays for weather marred the Denver Outlaws traditional Fourth of July game, but the Outlaws provided the fireworks on the field, scoring the final five goals of the game to rally past Chesapeake 14-13 in a game that ended after 11 p.m. local time. Zach Currier scored four goals for Denver and Max Adler won 23 of 31 faceoffs. Lyle Thompson scored five for the Bayhawks, but Dillon Ward stopped him with this sensational save.
2. A year after its national-record 198-game winning streak came to an end, McDonogh (Md.) is back on top of the Nike/US Lacrosse National High School Girls’ Top 25.
3. Culver (Ind.) edged out Calvert Hall (Md.) for the top spot in the Nike/US Lacrosse National High School Boys’ Top 25.
4. After a weekend off, the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League resumes play this weekend outside of Philadelphia. Justin Feil with the WPLL Notebook.
