Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Denver Outlaws and New York Lizards picked up wins in a pair of Thursday MLL matinees.

The Outlaws continued a hot start to 2019 with an 18-17 victory over the Atlanta Blaze thanks to Zach Currier’s game-winning goal with two seconds remaining. Denver moves to an MLL-leading 6-1 record on the season.

The Outlaws led 11-7 at halftime but former Towson product Brendan Sunday led a Blaze rally to tie the game entering the fourth quarter. Chris Aslanian led the Denver effort with four goals, and Max Adler helped his team win 24 of 37 faceoffs.

As for New York, the Lizards used a seven-goal third quarter to push past the Boston Cannons for the 15-12 victory. Dylan Molloy was the star for New York, dropping four goals in the win.

Greg Puskuldjian helped the Lizards win eight second-half faceoffs, and he added two goals for good measure. It was a crucial win that moves New York to 2-5 on the year.

2. Round 2 of the U19 men’s tryout process will get underway today at US Lacrosse headquarters. Fifty of the nation’s best young talents will compete all weekend, culminating in the Blue-White scrimmage on Sunday at 10 a.m.

And good news, folks. The game will be streamed on Lax Sports Network.

3. Marco Napolitano held opposing offensive threats in check all season long, fueling a state title and a 20-2 record for Torrey Pines (Calif.). He’s the Warrior/US Lacrosse West Player of the Year.

4. Taylor Geist wanted to make sure she left San Ramon Valley (Calif.) with a state title. Mission accomplished. Geist finished with 37 goals, 50 assists, 112 ground balls and a 72.1 draw percentage, and SRV went 22-0 to win it all.

She’s the Brine/US Lacrosse West Player of the Year.

5. Cabrini coach Steve Colfer was planning to relax the day after winning the school’s first national championship. But his friends and family wanted to keep the celebration going.
