Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. After graduating it’s all-time leading scorer, Olivia Hompe, and star goalie, Ellie DeGarmo, Princeton will turn to its experienced midfield and a talented freshman class.

2. Film study helped Ohio State’s Ben Randall elevate his game to another level. He’s a major reason the Buckeyes could be in the title hunt again in 2018.

3. Adam Charalambides injury for the second year in a row was heartbreaking, and a tough blow to Rutgers, but the Scarlet Knights still have lots of firepower as they look to get over the hump and back into the NCAA tournament.

4. US Lacrosse Magazine editor Matt DaSilva lauds the resilient spirit of Villanova’s Kathleen O’Connor, LaSalle’s Lexi Kucia, UMass-Lowell’s Noelle Lambert and official Trina Mangano, all featured in the January print edition.

5. Ryan Joseph, a 16-year-old lacrosse player from College Park (Calif.) High School, suffered a tragedy on January 10 when he suffered a spinal cord injury during a wrestling match. He is paralyzed from the neck down and unable to breath on his own. A fundraiser has been set up to help with his recovery.

The social media countdowns to season openers using player’s uniform numbers is more than a little stale, but props to Colgate women’s lacrosse for this unique twist.

WHAT’S ON TAP

  • Former Penn State women’s lacrosse coach Gillian Rattray, a National Lacrosse Hall of Fame member who died in December, will be remembered with a special service in State College this morning. She was honored last year as one of the IWLCA Trailblazers at US Lacrosse headquarters last fall.

  • There are four games in the NLL this week, with Saturday's game in Toronto featuring the Rock (3-2) hosting New England (4-1) serving as the Game of the Week on Twitter.
