Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Lacrosse world is descending upon the City of Brotherly Love, so much so that it’s officially “Lacrosse Weekend in Philadelphia.” The annual US Lacrosse Convention – LaxCon – begins today and features Fan Fest tomorrow. The Philadelphia Wings also host the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday.

2. Philadelphia was also one of 30 cities announced on Thursday as finalists to host Premiere Lacrosse League weekends this summer. The league will have a 14-week tour, including all-star and championship weekends.

3. Across the country, the San Diego Seals are set for the first home game in franchise history when they host Rochester on Saturday night.

4. Amherst’s Evan Wolf, coming off an 84-point season, is the Warrior/US Lacrosse Division III Men’s Preseason Player of the Year.

5. Steph Colson, attempting to lead Gettysburg to a third straight national title, is the Brine/US Lacrosse Division III Women's Preseason Player of the Year.

6. US Lacrosse Foundation Board vice chair Sol Kumin, a former Johns Hopkins player, has turned his business acumen to horse racing. He was part of the ownership group for Triple Crown winner Justify.

• Former Louisville player Aimee Dixon, who helped lead the fundraising effort to bring Uganda to the Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s World Championship for the first time in 2014, has been hired as the FIL’s director of private donor fundraising.

• The San Diego Seals got into news in a way they didn't plan. Two players had to be rescued from heavy surf by lifeguards.

• Chris Jastrzembski checks in with Syracuse following the annual Orange media day. Head coach John Desko said Drake Porter is the leader in the clubhouse to become Syracuse’s third starting goalie in the last three years.

• Newly-acquired Kevin Crowley should be a boost for the Philadelphia Wings offense.

• Former Whittier coach and NLL general manager Doug Locker will be on the broadcast team for the San Diego Seals.

• Ty Xanders reports for Inside Lacrosse from the Adrenaline Challenge.
