Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Everyone knows Jim Brown played lacrosse, but the number of Black stars in the sport goes way deeper. In working with Blaxers Blog and former coaches, players and fans of the sport, we’ve come up with the All-Time Black men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. To be clear, there are some great players not included on these lists, a true testament to the number of great Black players that have excelled in the sport.
2. There was a light schedule in the Division I ranks on Thursday with just a pair of women’s games. Albany picked up its first win of the season, getting four goals from Hailey Carroll in a 16-2 win over St. Bonaventure. Abby Edmisten had four goals and two assists as Presbyterian topped Wofford 16-9 in a battle last night in South Carolina.
3. Navy’s midfield depth is allowing men’s lacrosse coach Joe Amplo to place an emphasis on riding, and the Mids did that to perfection in a season-opening win against Mount St. Mary’s. Navy forced 10 failed clears in an 8-5 victory.
Four of @navymlax's top six midfielders are freshmen and sophomores; a fifth, senior Michael Foster, missed last season with injury.

Still, Joe Amplo is ready to lean on that midfield for the same furious ride it showed in the season opener.https://t.co/hhmnIlRA1Z
4. A dynamic offense helped Virginia’s women avenge last season’s loss to Richmond. The Cavaliers are back in familiar territory in the national top 10.
5. After a rough season-opener against Northwestern, Ohio State completely flipped the script in an upset victory over Michigan. Liza Hernandez is a catalyst for the Buckeyes resurgence.
After losing to Northwestern, @OhioStateWLAX reset and refocused. It paid off.

At the center of a huge win over Michigan was Liza Hernandez, who had six goals and 10 draw controls in the game.https://t.co/uLi7jwr7qi
6. US Lacrosse has announced the process for its 2021 National Team Development Program. Regional tryouts will begin in late May.
