Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Kali Hartshorn scored four goals and helped Maryland dominate the draw (20-11), gathering nine herself, as the No. 2 Terps went on the road and beat No. 4 Florida 17-12.

The Terps started off red-hot, scoring the game's first five goals, but Florida got back into the game. Lindsey Ronbeck's third goal pulled Florida to within 7-6 to open the second half, but Maryland then ripped off six straight goals to take control.

Hartshorn, Jen Giles and Caroline Steele all had four goals for the Terps to overcome a huge night by Ronbeck, who finished with eight goals.

The victory was the 250th for Maryland head coach Cathy Reese since taking over her alma mater's program in 2007 - a feat she achieved in just 271 games. Amazing.

2. First-year Colgate head coach Matt Karweck said the simple things led the way for the Raiders’ season-opening win over Syracuse.

3. One of the great personalities in the MCLA is closing in on 500 career wins. Texas A&M coach Tony Scazzero will go for the milestone this weekend.

4. After leading LeMoyne to the NCAA Division II championship last year, Brine/US Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year Bryanna Fazio is ready for an encore.

5. Jefferson Crowther, the father of former Boston College men's lacrosse Welles Crowther, died on Thursday. Welles, of course, is known for his heroic actions on Sept. 11, 2001 as "The Man in the Red Bandana." The picture below of is of Welles parents, Jefferson and Alison, during a dedication ceremony in 2016 in which a piece of steel from the World Trade Center was donated to US Lacrosse. The steel is on display at the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum as part of a tribute to the members of the lacrosse community that died during the terrorist attacks.

6. The NLL’s two division leaders, Toronto and the expansion San Diego squad, meet tonight in Toronto. The Rock have won five straight games.

7. Lyle and Miles Thompson are featured in a new exhibit in the State Capitol building in Albany, N.Y.
