1. The busiest weekend of the early college lacrosse season is set to unfold and it got even better with yesterday’s announcement that No. 1 North Carolina will host No. 5 Stony Brook in a women’s blockbuster on Sunday. 2. No. 2 Notre Dame went undefeated in 2020’s abbreviated season, but the Irish are out to prove that they’re way more than a one-hit wonder. Kenny DeJohn with one of the cover stories from the US Lacrosse Magazine February print edition. The Irish open the season on Saturday against Vanderbilt.
3. The Premier Lacrosse League announced a blockbuster trade with Redwoods LC picking up two-time all-world attackman Rob Pannell from Atlas LC in exchange for the No. 3 pick in the upcoming PLL Entry Draft and a second-round pick in the 2022 college draft.
4. The saga of the Ivy League keeps adding new wrinkles. On Thursday, news broke that the league would break with tradition and allow 2021 graduates to compete at their school as graduate students during the 2021-22 academic year. The league has still not announced whether or not spring sports will be held this year.
