Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The NCAA has declined a waiver to push back the date of first contact in women’s lacrosse.
Inside Lacrosse obtained an email sent to club directors nationwide detailing how the NCAA declined to approve a waiver that would have pushed the first contact date for the class of 2022 back. Instead, the date will remain Sept. 1.
According to a July survey of its membership, the IWLCA said 87 percent voted in favor of changing the date. Seventy-six percent voted in favor of moving the date to July 1, 2021.
Stanford women’s lacrosse coach Danielle Spencer was one of many to sound off on the NCAA’s decision.
Disappointed the @NCAA ignored the request from 87% of @IWLCA to move recruiting start date. Now, when our current team needs us the most, our staff has to try and recruit high schoolers who we haven’t seen play in a almost a year, bc they missed their HS and club szn & no camps.

2. US Lacrosse Magazine has partnered with Blaxers Blog.
Blaxers Blog, founded by college friends Mark Paul and Don Wilson after they rekindled their friendship 20 years later, has been used as a platform to amplify Black voices in the lacrosse community.
