1. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan paid a visit to US Lacrosse Headquarters on Thursday morning, helping honor the gold medal-winning U.S. women’s and men’s national teams.

Hogan greeted US Lacrosse staff before accepting a signed helmet and stick from CEO Steve Stenersen. Hogan then presented US Lacrosse with a gift of his own and toured the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum.

2. Lacrosse was in the limelight for 90 minutes on Thursday night. “Crossroads,” an ESPN Films documentary featuring the Charlotte Secondary School lacrosse program, debuted on ESPN.

The film, directed by Ron Yassen and with Chris Paul as an executive producer, received plenty of acclaim from the lacrosse community.

3. More Minto Cup drama.

A day after Game 2 of the series was postponed when referees left the field concerned with the league's response to suspensions to Dan and Jeff Teat of the Brampton Excelsiors, the teams hit the field. According to Global News, the referees met with the league and were "threatened with litigation."

The group came to a resolution that allowed Jeff Teat to play in Game 2. However, a new unit of referees took the place of the original group that had boycotted Game 2.

The Coquitlam Adanacs took a 2-0 series lead with an 8-6 win on Thursday night and they'll look to clinch the Minto Cup tonight.

4. Dillon Ward. Finn Sullivan. Eli Gobrecht. Nick Tintle.

These names were once floated around in the MLL Supplemental Draft, but each has etched his name into league history. All four were chosen by the Denver Outlaws as supplemental picks, and they formed a core that helped the Outlaws win their third MLL title in five seasons.

5. With Stony Brook legends Kylie Ohlmiller and Courtney Murphy graduated, the Seawolves will have to find a new leader. Taryn Ohlmiller, Kylie’s sister, may take the mantle in 2019.

The younger Ohlmiller won’t be cleared to play until November — she tore her ACL in the NCAA tournament in 2018 — but she’ll be looked to help keep the Stony Brook program a national power.
